Platforms and Staircases, Recycling Site, Watford

As part of the development of an existing waste transfer site, Hertfordshire County Council awarded the Waterdale Household Recycling site project to Fitzpatrick Contractors Ltd. Part of the works required the pre-casting and subsequent installation of 14 access platforms and associated staircases.

Topbond already provided bridge repair and refurbishment services to Fitzpatrick’s Transport for London Term Maintenance Contracts. Additionally, Topbond worked in the county for Hertfordshire’s Highways Term Maintenance Contractor, Amey Lafarge, having recently installed a new bridge at Bridge Street, Hemel Hempstead using units cast at the Topbond pre-cast concrete facility at Sittingbourne.

Topbond’s offer for both supply and installation was accepted as competitive. Fitzpatrick staff were particularly impressed with the speed of erection of all the units—completed in three days—making a worthwhile contribution to our clients £1.2 million contract value.
