As part of the £225 million scheme to build a new hospital for the Tonbridge and Malling NHS Trust, Topbond undertook embankment stabilisation works to accommodate the level changes required around the site area.

Slopes were constructed in two phases-phase 1 with a 60 degree face and a second phase with a 21 degree slope.  Geotextile matting was rolled out to secure the slopes

This was then secured with 400 S06 Platipus SO6 Soil anchors, with 4m x 6mm stainless steel tendons installed to a driven depth of 3m.  Four rows of anchors were used along the profile of the slope to stabilise the ground prior to landscaping.
