Carrriageway Widening Scheme
Topbond have recently completed a carriageway widening project at a site near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire.
The parapets had been damaged and the edge of the road was falling away.
The repair works involved clearing and excavating the area to the edge of the existing carriageway, driving sheet piles to support fill, constructing new foundations, wing walls and casting a new concrete deck to protect a large water main, waterproofing and installing kerbs and fencing.
The 'before' and 'after' photos below show the transformation made. The works were completed on schedule and to budget and the client commented that the project 'went well from start to finish'.
