Foundation construction can also be included in the scope of the project. We are able to provide in house design, independent checking, AIP forms, general arrangement drawings, risk assessment, erection planning and determination of craneage requirements.
Our footbridges meet the requirements of the Highways Agency and we can provide assistance with planning matters if required.
We offer footbridges in a range of materials, depending on client requirements, the location and function of the footbridge and, of course, the available budget.
Concrete – spans of up to 18m in double T-beam format with clear widths of up to 3m
Steel – In truss formation of Warren, modified Warren and Vierendeel designs with either straight or bow string top booms – spans of up to 40m can be achieved. Steel beam bridges and plate girders can be designed and constructed, usually on a bespoke basis.
Timber – Hardwood spans of up to 11m can be constructed from solid beams and spans of up to 35m can be achieved using a laminated design.
Steel and Timber – Steel beams or truss designs can be used incorporating hardwood decking and parapets.
Composite – Comprising two steel beams with a concrete deck on top, spans of up to 35m can be produced with clear widths up to 3m.
Columns - can be precast concrete – rooted into pockets formed in the foundations, or steel – bolted onto the foundations.
Parapets- P4 type parapets can be constructed in steel, aluminium or timber.
