Early in 2000, joinery specialists Howard Joinery (East Kent) were approached by John Mowlem to work on the Bearsted Golf Club, just outside Maidstone.
Howard Joinery was asked to assist with both the internal and external joinery of the club. Externally they produced stairs and fire exit ramps in Iroko Hardwood. The ramps consist of 9.6m spans on support legs and all works were carried out by Howard Joinery’s own team of skilled operatives.
Internally, the lounge and saloon bar areas were fitted out with a solid Beech bar and back bar units to a simple but effective design. Attractive black lacquered storage shelves were used to complement the Beech finish.
The impressive staircase and all internal doors and frames were manufactured in Mahogany at Howard Joinery’s works in Dover and delivered to site for fixing by others.
Howard Joinery worked closely with the architect and the client John Mowlem to achieve the desired results. By becoming involved at an early stage, Howard Joinery were able to offer advice regarding design and materials. All works were completed within time schedule and budget and the new clubhouse has met with unanimous praise from all who use it!
