Arjowiggins are one of the largest European paper manufacturers - their site in Kent being a major production location.
In order to install a new paper winder/cutter machine at the Dartford Paper Mill the client was well aware of the need to prepare the receiving floor area correctly to ensure safe and efficient operation of the equipment. In particular, the concrete floor where the 20 tonne paper rolls are wound, cut and separated needed to meet a specification tight enough to ensure that rolls cut to size could be moved steadily with no deviation from line. If any rolls became jammed they would have to be freed manually - thus slowing down the process and increasing the potential hazards for operators. Additionally, a fork lift working area around the winder/cutter machine needed to be prepared.
HTS Flooring were awarded the work by Arjowiggins and all works for the 120 m2 area were completed during two night shifts. The floor was ground using an HTC Grinder 650, then prepared, cleaned and coated with a fast-cure epoxy resin to make it available for traffic just four hours later.
