HTS carried-out concrete repairs to fire damage of a concrete abutment caused by an abandoned car that had been set alight. There was extensive staining of the concrete by soot, delaminated concrete caused by the heat from the fire and this also damaged the expansion joints.
The repair work involved removal of the concrete by high pressure water jetting to sound concrete behind the reinforcement bars and the repair of remaining concrete by dry spraying. The soot on surrounding areas was removed by power washing.
