Trocadero London
Reconstituted Cast Stone plinths, balusters,
cappin
gs and feature stones
Situated in the heart of London's theatreland and close to Piccadilly Circus, the Trocadero Centre was built in the late 19th Century and has seen many uses including a theatre and the site of the first Lyons Corner House.
Today it is a complex of shops, bars and restaurants and the owners have been putting in place an ambitious renovation scheme to upgrade the building and to utilise currently unoccupied floors.
As part of this refurbishment project Broadmead Renaissance Cast Stone were approached to supply reconstructed stone units for the front façade in order to replace those that had started to show signs of deterioration. These units which included plinths, balusters cappings and feature stones had to match existing profiles, as old and new often met. A further challenge was to produce a colour / finish which matched that of the remaining weathered elevations.
